May the 4th, Banlist update!

🇬🇧 May the Banlist, be with you!

We have continued to monitor the Legendary Pauper Commander (LPDH) meta. In addition to keeping highly linear strategies that require heavy interaction in check, we have decided to align part of our banned list with the traditional “Pauper” format, allowing the use of cards that are truly problematic only when considered in a multiplayer context.

Changes:

Blue players will be happy… from now on, you can ask your opponent: “Do you pay 1?? Or better yet, 4?”

• Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora are UNBANNED.
  As mentioned above, these two enchantments are truly oppressive at a multiplayer table. In a 1v1 setting, they serve as excellent tools to make control/midrange decks more impactful, using card advantage as a solution to keep aggro decks at bay. We have decided to test their inclusion to evaluate their playability.
• The following Commander pairing is BANNED:
  • Keskit, the Flesh Sculptor
  • Dargo, the Shipwrecker

  We have found that this specific pairing is excessively oppressive. It allows for constant board pressure (a 7/5 trample usually cast on turn two or three) followed by continuous card advantage, which in turn maintains that pressure every time Dargo is re-cast for a single Red mana.

  Do we want to see Dargo at the table? Yes.

  Do we want to see him for 6 turns in a row while he’s constantly removed and the opponent still has a full hand? No.

Reminder: Since this is a 1v1 format, please keep in mind how vital interaction is.

Abbiamo continuato il monitoraggio del meta Legendary Pauper Commander (LPDH). Ed oltre a tenere a bada strategie estremamente lineari che necessitano un pesante livello di interazione abbiamo deciso di uniformare parte della banned list a quella del “pauper”, fornendo l’utilizzo di carte che risultano essere davvero un problema gravoso solo se considerate in un contesto multiplayer.

Changes:

I giocatori di blu saranno contenti… da adesso si potrà chiedere al proprio avversario: “paghi 1?? O meglio 4?”

• Rhystic Study e Mystic Remora sono SBANNATE.
  Come anticipato sopra questi due incantesimi risultano davvero opprimenti in un tavolo multiplayer… potrebbero essere degli ottimi tools per rendere i mazzi control/midrange più impattanti potendo fare del card advantage la soluzione per tenere a bada gli aggro. Quindi abbiamo deciso di testare il loro inserimento nei mazzi per valutarne la giocabilità.
• La seguente accoppiata di comandanti è BANNATA:
  • Keskit, the Flesh Sculptor
  • Dargo, the Shipwrecker

  Abbiamo constatato di come questa accoppiata di comandanti risulti eccessivamente opprimente al tavolo consentendo una costante pressione su board (7/5 trample castato tendenzialmente di secondo/terzo turno) seguita da un continuo card advantage che consente a sua volta di mantenere alta la pressione su board dal lancio ad un rosso di dargo.

  Vogliamo vedere dargo al tavolo? Si.

  Vogliamo vederlo per 6 turni di fila mentre viene costantemente rimosso ed oppo ha sempre la mano piena? No.

Promemoria: Vi ricordiamo vivamente che, essendo un formato 1vs1, bisogna tenere a mente quanto le interazioni siano importanti.
